GDPR Compliance, DPIA & EU Representative Services
GDPR fines reach 4% of global annual turnover, but the practical risk for most companies is a stalled enterprise deal or a supervisory authority questionnaire. Vyapari Solutions builds a defensible programme that answers both.

The obligations that carry real risk
GDPR applies if you have an establishment in the EU, or if you offer goods and services to, or monitor the behaviour of, people in the EU or UK. For Indian technology and BPO companies, Article 28 processor obligations and Chapter V transfer rules are usually where the pressure lands.
Accountability is the organising principle: you must not only comply, you must be able to demonstrate compliance with documentation, records and assessments at any time.
- Records of processing activities under Article 30, for both controller and processor roles
- A documented lawful basis for every purpose, with legitimate interests assessments where relied on
- Data protection by design and by default, evidenced in your product and change processes
- Data Protection Impact Assessments for high-risk processing, including profiling and large-scale special category data
- Data subject rights: access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, objection and rights around automated decisions
- Chapter V transfer mechanism — adequacy, Standard Contractual Clauses or BCRs — supported by a transfer impact assessment

Programme components
We deliver the artefacts a supervisory authority or an enterprise procurement team will actually ask to see.
Data mapping & ROPA
Processing activities, purposes, categories, recipients, retention and transfers documented to Article 30 standard.
Lawful basis & LIA
Purpose-by-purpose lawful basis analysis, with three-part legitimate interests assessments where relied upon.
DPIA framework
Screening criteria, DPIA templates aligned to Article 35 and WP29 guidance, and completed DPIAs for high-risk processing.
DSR operations
Identity verification, search across systems, redaction workflow and one-month SLA tracking.
International transfers
SCC module selection, transfer impact assessments and supplementary technical measures post-Schrems II.
Contracts & vendors
Article 28 DPAs, sub-processor registers, controller-to-controller terms and vendor due diligence.
Controller, processor or both?
The distinction drives your obligations, your contracts and your liability. Most of our clients are processors for their customers and controllers for their own employees and marketing — and need both sets of records.
- SaaS and technology companies with EU or UK customers
- BPO, KPO, analytics and support providers processing EU personal data on instruction
- E-commerce and D2C brands shipping into the EU or UK
- Marketing, adtech and CRM platforms handling behavioural data
- Any Indian company whose EU customers demand an Article 28 data processing agreement
Enterprise deals unblocked
A complete ROPA, DPA and TIA pack turns a multi-week privacy review into a single document exchange.
Defensible accountability
If a regulator asks, you produce evidence rather than assemble it under a deadline.
Shared with DPDP and ISO 27701
One privacy control set serves GDPR, the DPDP Act and ISO 27701 certification.
DSRs that do not derail teams
A defined workflow and search map turns a request from a fire drill into a routine ticket.
How the engagement runs
Applicability & role assessment
Territorial scope, controller/processor roles per processing activity, and identification of your lead supervisory authority.
Discovery & ROPA build
Workshops and system discovery producing an Article 30 record you can maintain, not a one-off spreadsheet.
Gap assessment
Assessment against all articles in scope, with a risk-rated remediation roadmap and effort estimates.
Implementation
Policies, notices, DSR workflows, DPIAs, transfer mechanisms, contracts, retention schedules and training.
Sustain
DPO as a service or EU/UK representative appointment, annual review and ongoing DPIA support.

GDPR — frequently asked questions
If you have no establishment in the EU but you target or monitor people there, Article 27 requires a representative in a member state where your data subjects are, unless a narrow exemption applies. The UK GDPR has an equivalent requirement. We provide or arrange this appointment.
When you are a public authority, when your core activities require regular and systematic monitoring of data subjects on a large scale, or when your core activities involve large-scale processing of special category or criminal conviction data. Many companies appoint one voluntarily because customers ask for a named contact.
SCCs are the mechanism, but Schrems II requires you to assess whether the destination country’s laws undermine them, and to add supplementary measures if so. We produce a transfer impact assessment covering Indian surveillance and access law, plus the technical measures — encryption, key control, access minimisation — that make the transfer defensible.
GDPR has six lawful bases, sensitive data categories, portability and objection rights, mandatory DPIAs and a risk-based breach threshold. DPDP is consent-centric with fewer rights and mandatory notification of all breaches. If you run GDPR well, the DPDP delta is mainly consent granularity, multilingual notices and children’s data.
A four-week accelerated pack: ROPA for the in-scope service, DPA with SCCs, transfer impact assessment, security measures annex and a signed gap-remediation roadmap. It answers most procurement reviews while the full programme continues in parallel.
Yes. A named business contact — first name, work email, job title — is personal data. Business context affects which lawful basis is appropriate and how ePrivacy rules apply to marketing, but it does not remove the data from scope.
