Anyone can print a certificate. Accreditation is the independent check on the certifier: NABCB assesses certification bodies against ISO/IEC 17021-1, verifying auditor competence, impartiality, audit duration, decision-making independence and complaint handling.

NABCB Compliance — frequently asked questions
Look for the accreditation body mark (NABCB, UKAS, ANAB and so on) alongside the certification body logo, then verify the certificate number on that accreditation body’s public register. A logo without a corresponding register entry is a red flag, and we run this check for clients free of charge.
Not worthless, but frequently not accepted. Government tenders, PSU procurement, exporters and large enterprise supplier programmes almost always specify accredited certification. If you already hold a non-accredited certificate, transitioning usually requires a fresh Stage 1 and Stage 2 audit.
No — deliberately. ISO/IEC 17021-1 prohibits a body from consulting and certifying the same client, and any body offering both is either unaccredited or breaching its accreditation. We prepare you; an independent accredited body certifies you.
Yes. NABCB is a signatory to the IAF Multilateral Recognition Arrangement, so certificates issued under its accreditation are recognised by other MLA signatories worldwide. For specific export markets we confirm the buyer’s requirement first, since some sectors name particular accreditation bodies.
